Decimal odds and returns
Decimal odds show gross return per unit stake when a selection wins, including the stake. Multiplying a stake by the decimal price gives the gross return before any applicable rules or deductions. The reciprocal of the decimal price gives an implied probability; for example, 2.00 maps to 50% in that simple conversion.
That figure is not a verified forecast. A bookmaker’s prices can include a margin and the underlying event probability is uncertain. A displayed price also does not guarantee acceptance at that price until the ticket is confirmed.
What the market margin means
For an event with multiple mutually exclusive outcomes, add the implied probabilities derived from all available prices. A total above 100% is often used as a rough indicator of margin. This calculation only makes sense when outcomes cover the same market and period and are recorded at the same time.
We did not collect a dated SportyBet price sample or calculate its market margin. Therefore we make no claim that its odds are best or worse than another operator.
Price changes and fair comparisons
Prices can move when information changes, when an event begins or when a market is suspended. Compare the accepted price rather than a screenshot captured earlier. Promotions may add separate conditions that make a headline price comparison misleading.
A fair comparison records event, market, period, timestamp, settlement terms and whether the price is promotional. Avoid comparing different markets or different moments.
Responsible use of odds
A higher price does not make a wager safe or profitable. Outcomes remain uncertain, and no odds conversion removes the risk of losing the stake. Do not chase an apparent price or increase stakes because a calculation looks favorable.
